CNC Machine Tending at a Precision Machining Facility in Sweden
Acteris deployed at a precision machining facility, enabling operators to launch new production jobs through a conversational interface without specialist programming knowledge.
A precision machining company producing fine mechanical components for the engineering, pharmaceutical, and electronics industries needed adaptable automation that could handle variability across both prototype and series production. Operating in a 5-axis milling environment with limited floor space and extensive legacy equipment, their biggest challenge was fragmented, ad-hoc deployments that required high programming effort for every new part type, inconsistent processes across projects, and limited coverage of edge cases.
With Acteris deployed on a Universal Robots cobot paired with a DMG MORI machining centre, operators describe the job to the Acteris AI agent in natural, conversational language and the platform configures and runs the automation from there. The full cycle, from part loading and machining to blowoff and part placement, runs without intervention, freeing operators to focus on higher-value work. The result is a unified installed base, broader application coverage, built-in edge case handling, and consistent processes that are repeatable at scale.
